What do Single Tooth Implants and Bridges refer to?
Implants and bridges are highly effective in closing gaps between teeth. They offer several benefits, including a natural appearance, strong and natural chewing ability, firm and permanent attachment, significant reduction in bone loss after tooth extraction, and no harm to adjacent teeth unlike bridges.
How it Works
A dental implant is a tooth replacement made of titanium. It acts as a foundation and consists of three components.
- Implant Post: Also called the body, this part serves as the base and is securely placed within the jaw to act as an anchor.
- Abutment: This component connects the implant post and the crown.
- Crown: The visible part of the mouth, the crown can be a single tooth or a bridge made of implants.
Dental Implant Timeline
On average, the entire process usually lasts for 5-6 months.
1
The implant body needs to be positioned and given a 4-month period to integrate with the jaw bone.
2
Allow the implants to be exposed for a period of 2 weeks, giving the gums the opportunity to naturally shape themselves correctly.
3
Please collect impressions and send them to an external laboratory for the production of the abutment and crown. The usual timeframe for this process is approximately 3-4 weeks.
4
Kindly proceed with the installation of the abutment and crown.
